The Yacht Club of Sea Isle City has had a longstanding commitment to promoting sailing along the Jersey Shore. Since our club’s beginning in 1940, the club has kept sailing and recreation for young people its main focus.

We hope to instill the excitement of the sport of sailing, teach sound basic seamanship skills and help our students become proficient recreational sailors, or go all the way to be award-winning competitive sailors.

Join us for this 1-day regatta for lasers, radials, sunfish, optis and 420's. Registration will be held 8AM-9AM, Skippers Meeting 9AM and the 1st race at 10AM. More details to come!

Our sailing program is designed to instruct children ages 7 and older in the art of sailboat piloting. Our instructors use their years of experience to train students of all skill levels and prepare them for competitive and leisure sailing. The Yacht Club of Sea Isle City is a participating member of the Mid-Atlantic Yacht Racing Association and hosts a regatta each summer.

You do not have to be a member of the club to have your children/grandchildren participate in weekly classes.

About our instructors

Matt Marciano
Matt is finishing his freshman year at Monmouth University in West Long Branch N.J. As an active member of Monmouth University Sailing team, Matt participates in regattas every weekend in the Spring and Fall all over the east coast. He started taking sailing lessons at the YCSIC when he was 8 years old and discovered an enduring passion for sailing. He is certified as a US Sailing Level 1 Instructor, in CPR, and in First Aid. He is the 2009 MAYRA Sunfish Junior Champion and is eager to share his enthusiasm and knowledge of sailing with young sailors.

Zachary Thompson
Zachary is a Senior at Middle Township High School in N.J. At the age of 9, he started his sailing career in a Sunfish and has had a love for sailing ever since. He has several years of sailing and racing experience in OPT1's. He is a certified lifeguard with First Aid and CPR training and a certified US Sailing Level 1 Sailing Instructor. Zachary is also a Junior Firefighter for Green Creek N.J. He is looking forward to sharing his passion of sailing with young sailors this Summer.

Samantha Lucas
Samantha is finishing her senior year at the Agnes Irwin School in Rosemont, PA. She has been sailing in a Sunfish for 12 years and is certified in life guarding and CPR. She has previous experience instructing girls in sailing from ages 7 to 16. She plans to attend the University of Vermont in Burlington this Fall. Samantha is delighted about joining the YCSIC sailing instructors and sharing her passion and love for sailing with the program. She is a Level 1 Sailing Instructor.
