Welcome Aboard Doug Vaules
Dear Members of the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Doug Vaules & I’m joining the YCSIC as your Executive Chef. I thought I would give you a brief summary of my background & career.
I grew up mainly in West Chester, PA & Ocean City, NJ after moving around a bit as part of a military family. I left New Jersey for Philadelphia to experience the varied & quality restaurants the city has to offer. In my time there I had the pleasure of working in great restaurants in trendy Manayunk section of Philly. BLT’s Cobblefish, Thomas’, & Café Zesty, as well as The General Lafayette Inn & Brewery in Montgomery County. I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge form the talented people I worked for & with at these establishments which made my passion for food what it is today.
In 2001 I moved to Cape May for an opportunity at the renowned Washington Inn. I have also held the position of Executive Sous Chef as Alethea’s & the Pelican Club. Most recently I was the Executive Sous Chef for the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor before excepting the position that brings me here today.
I look forward to meeting all of you very soon and I’m excited about making your dining experience a pleasurable one each and every time. I believe in an open door policy where your feedback and suggestions are always welcome. Looking forward to a great 2008 season!
Sincerely,
Doug Vaules
